Our lab investigates the form and functions of interconnections across water, food, and energy systems. We seek to combine network models, socio-technical data, and ethical analyses to create a more sustainable and secure environment. This work strikes a balance between fundamental advancements and practical policy outcomes.

Who we are
The FEWsLab is directed by Dr. Caitlin Grady, Assistant Professor of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at George Washington University and Nonresident Fellow for the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. She has previously served on the faculty at Penn State, as an analyst at the US Department of State, Department of Energy, and as a Legislative Assistant for Congress.

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs selected Dr. Grady as a Nonresident Fellow for her expertise in Global Food and Agriculture, Climate Change, and Sustainability.
Dr. Grady was quoted in a Marketplace report on how drought could zap electricity production and could raise prices.
